Unscroll ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Unscroll mobile application (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account Information: When you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple ID user identifier and, if you choose to share them, your name and email address. We use Firebase Authentication to manage your account securely.

  • Profile Information: Your username, avatar emoji, appearance preferences, and exercise settings.

  • Gratitude Journal Entries: Text you enter during gratitude journaling activities. These entries are stored locally on your device.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Exercise & Activity Data: Rep counts, sets completed, XP earned, streak data, and challenge progress. This data is synced to our servers to power social features and leaderboards.

  • Screen Time Data: We use Apple's Screen Time APIs (FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, DeviceActivity) to manage app blocking and usage allowances. We do not collect, transmit, or store any information about which specific apps you use or how long you use them. All Screen Time data remains on your device and is managed entirely by Apple's frameworks.

Information We Do Not Collect

  • Camera & Body Pose Data: The App uses your device camera and Apple's Vision framework to detect body poses for exercise tracking (e.g., counting push-ups). Camera frames are processed entirely on your device in real time. We do not record, store, or transmit any camera footage, images, or body pose data to our servers.

  • Health Data: We do not access Apple HealthKit or any health-related data.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the App's core functionality (exercise tracking, screen time management, app blocking)

  • Sync your profile, XP, streaks, and progress across devices

  • Enable social features such as friend leaderboards and invite codes

  • Send you notifications (e.g., free trial reminders), with your permission

  • Improve and optimize the App experience

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information in the following circumstances:

  • Social Features: Your username, avatar emoji, XP, streak, and set count are visible to users you add as friends.

  • Service Providers: We use Firebase (Google) for authentication and data storage. Firebase processes your data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal processes.

4. Data Storage & Security

  • Account and profile data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore.

  • Exercise preferences and session data are stored locally on your device using UserDefaults and App Groups.

  • Screen Time selections and blocking states are stored locally on your device.

  • We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, but no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

  • You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, we will remove your profile data from our servers.

  • Local data (exercise history, Screen Time selections, preferences) can be cleared by deleting the App from your device.

6. Children's Privacy

Unscroll is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

7. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

  • Firebase Authentication — for secure sign-in

  • Firebase Firestore — for cloud data storage

  • Apple Screen Time APIs — for on-device app management (no data leaves your device)

  • Apple Vision Framework — for on-device pose detection (no data leaves your device)

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you

  • Request correction of inaccurate data

  • Request deletion of your account and associated data

  • Withdraw consent for notifications at any time through your device Settings

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
